Covid may have stopped our walk but couldn't stop our mission.

Updated: Jul 7

Hello hello and welcome back to Future for autism.

I know it’s been a very long time since our last update so we have quite a bit to catch up but first of all I would like to thank you all from Uk, France, Germany and Greece for you great support and love. I wouldn’t be here without your help.

For those who are new here, let me introduce myself.

My name is Katerina and I started a gofundme campaign to raise awareness about autism and raise the funds we need to start and build an non profit that will truly bring positive change to people's lives and individuals affected by autism, other neurological disorders and trauma.

For the purpose of this campaign I started a walk from London to Thessalonica in a Greek monastery.

The walk, to be fair it should have been called <The push > and boy oh boy it was quite a journey.

Even though it was very physical ...I mean... there was some hardcore pushing going on there, the mental and spiritual aspect of the experience was mind blowing. Thank God.

Soon after a break in Germany the second locked down was announced and I had to pause the walk.

So I am in Athens,

Lock down

I must admit this lockdown in combination with the festive season hit me hard.

Not being able to walk… breath, connect with loved ones.

It was the worst Christmas ever and for that reason I had to give some time to myself, shut down, regroup and heal.

Healing is a long process right?

Now, you definitely know if you are a parent of an autistic child …

STOP FIGHTING is not an option

GIVING UP is not an option

Every time you are broken in million pieces you Always find the strength to pick up your self.

So Here we are!!!

Standing in front of our large seed order

How we can still stay make a positive impact to families and children’s lives?

I couldn’t travel in Crete for the search of of our little paradise due to travelling restrictions but as you know my friends Greece is a beautiful country it wouldn’t be difficult to find our little spot to start our projects.

So I got a part time job and then another job.

Keeping in mind that I’ve been away from Greece for 19 years, it took me some time to get around the idea that, you don’t really get paid for the work you do here in Greek land. To be honest that broke my heart a bit cause I always put all my heart when I work.

Work and travel 20 hours a day.

My mind and spirit was “Come on girl, you got this it’s cool”

my body on the other hand was like “what on earth are you doing girl?

Guess how won !!!

Exactly!!!

Now enough with the drama, let’s go to the best part of it.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!

We found the most beautiful, breathtaking spot in the mountains of Korinthou. We privately rented a two story house and a 12,5 acres of land

This is our view

and......

We are officially a not for profit community interest company👏👏👏.

I want to thank you again for your support. I am so thankful and grateful for all my friends that were next to me when I most need it.... truly speechless ...

and off course I would like to apology for our big absent.
